A fantastic game between two of the top teams in the NBA at the moment occurred on Monday night. In the end, a thrilling game that came down to the wire saw the Miami Heat defeat the Phoenix Suns, 113-112.
It makes sense that Devin Booker was obviously agitated following the setback because it was yet another disappointing loss for the Suns. When the Phoenix superstar was questioned about one particular factor that significantly affected the competition, Booker responded candidly:
According to Suns reporter Duane Rankin of az central, Booker stated of the evening’s free throw difference, “We just gotta keep playing till we win [the referees’] respect.” I’m not sure what we can do. Just keep shooting hoops.
In contrast to the Heat, who made 25 trips to the foul line, the Suns only attempted the free throw line four times. It would be an understatement to suggest that there was a significant variance in this particular game feature.
Booker was speechless when asked why this occurred, but it was obvious that he wasn’t pleased. The 26-year-old simply threw the issue back to the reporter when asked if he believed the Suns should have gained the respect of the referees by this point.
Booker replied, “You tell me.
“You tell me.”
The Suns really had a chance to tie the score in the first half thanks to Devin Booker, who finished with a game-high 25 points. However, Miami’s victory was preserved by a spectacular defensive effort by Heat standout Jimmy Butler against Booker in the final seconds.
