There was a lot of Mikal Bridges-related tweeting on Tuesday night from the official Arizona Diamondbacks account, which could have been confusing to anyone who knows that Bridges plays in the NBA.
Put your faith in us; we have a good reason. Bridges, a basketball player for the Phoenix Suns, revealed his fandom for the Philadelphia Phillies in an early post this MLB season when the Diamondbacks faced off against the Phillies. He and his crew gambled on Philadelphia to win the series, and they were right.

Consequently, the Diamondbacks’ rematch with the Phillies on Tuesday will be “Mikal Bridges Appreciation Day.” According to 98.7 Arizona Sports, the Diamondbacks plan to change their Twitter and Instagram photos to those of Bridges, as well as give him a personalized jersey, have him throw out the ceremonial first pitch, play a video montage of fun facts about Bridges, serve him a celebratory Churro dog, and more.
Not to mention, everyone in the stadium will wish Bridges a happy birthday because it is his special day. I’d say Bridges got his money’s worth. But at least the Diamondbacks are honoring a player from another Arizona franchise, so it’s not all terrible news.

It “may” be Mikal Bridges‘ finest birthday ever when he won two wagers, one against teammate Cam Johnson and the other against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona’s loss to the Phillies in the Philadelphia series earlier this season prompted the Diamondbacks to make the forward Mikal Bridges Appreciation Day.
Pregame, Bridges told reporters, “I am a betting man on the low.” To paraphrase, “Nothing wild, fairly controllable, not damaging, but I have been winning some bets lately.”
Bridges’ favorite baseball club happened to be in town on his birthday, which also happened to be the appreciation day. Bridges predicted that his birthday would be “the greatest ever” if the Philadelphia Phillies also won.

“No, all I want is a fun match. That Phillie’s triumph. It’s impossible for me to lie. The Valley lad wore a personalized D-back No. 25 Bridges jersey to the game, despite the fact that Bridges is a lifelong Phillies fan.
Under his Suns jersey, the forward had a Phillies tee. In addition to his own personalized D-backs jersey, he was accompanied by teammates Cam Johnson and Cam Payne. On Tuesday, Bridges also threw out the first pitch, and the fans went wild as he ripped the ball just slightly beyond the strike zone.

I liked it. There is nothing I take for granted. Bridges remarked, “It’s all so unbelievable.” Even in this, I feel like a potential player, like I was just drafted and am about to make my debut.
Every Suns player, including Payne, enjoyed watching Jake McCarthy score. Even Payne tweeted on Tuesday night that he was going out to buy a McCarthy jersey. There were some entertaining “facts” displayed on the jumbotron by the D-backs throughout the game.
