Chepstow racing tips
2.17: Kitty’s Light 11/4
Should make all the running given his strong place runs in his last three runs, beaten by some top-rated horses in Hewick, Win My Wings and Cap Du Nord.
The former of which, went off at a rating of 149 and his since been upped to 167 from resulting wins.
The progressive Gats And Co who is given between 17lb and 22lb by the three market leaders stands a chance if he can take advantage but his last win could be flattering given the second place horse not jumping well.
2.52: McFabulous 8/11
Will surely not be this close to odds against as the race approaches the off as the Paul Nicholls-trained horse is well-regarded and will be well-backed by punters and fans.
Especially given his two latest runs beating Indefatigable and only coming a respectable third behind Epatante at 28/1 in April at Aintree.
His debut over fences has been much anticipated and should go extremely well, as he can go well fresh too.
4.02: Knappers Hill 10/3
One of thehorses to watch out for this seasonas he’s shown great ability in his last two runs and should still make all despite giving weight to the majority of his rivals.
Defied top-weight last time out as a 3/1f and despite the odds mistake kept on to win by over four lengths.
Will likely have progressed over the summer and could come into the new season in fine fettle and should be on to back again and again.
Only finished five lengths behind Jonbon in the Novice hurdle at Ascot in December and that Grade 2 seems to be a decent sign of potential.
Newmarket racing tips
1.50: Flying Honours 5/4
This favourites looks clear of the rest of the field but given his price he’s set to to be the one to beat under William Buick.
But with all two-year-old races there’s always a chance one or two will improve and progress in this race and mount a big-price surprise.
With just the nine runners, that could be deemed to come from Blanchland, who beat The Goat by two lengths at Newcastle last time out and was only narrowly beaten by a neck to U S S Constitution at Ascot early last month.
2.25: Silver Knott 9/4
Favourite last time out, Silver Knott was said to have not been suited to the softer ground and should get more ideal conditions here this time.
Was beaten by over five lengths to Chaldean who seemed to thrive and goes into the Dewhurst, stepping up in grade so the Godolphin could be even better off now under Buick.
3.00: Chaldean 4/1
Buick takes the mount as expected for Charlie Appleby but the likes of Nostrum, who could be filled with potential, is the big favourite now as the field reduced to seven.
His comfortable win in the Tattersalls Stakes here last month suggests that will be followed up nicely for Sir Michael Stoute under Richard Kingscote.
But Chaldean, also in the Juddmonte colours, appeals most under Frankie Dettori for trainer Andrew Balding.
By Frankel, he’s a very impressive colt who has come on from his debut leaps and bounds, winning three in a row including the Coral Champagne Stakes (Group 2) at Doncaster last month.
That was also on soft ground and that bodes well for the future to be versatile on the going.
3.40: Ahorsewithnoname 6/1
The big field of the Cesarewitch helps separate the best of the best in this staying heritage handicap over 2m2f over the Rowley course at Newmarket.
Nicky Henderson opts for Ahorsewithnoname and with Ryan Moore on board the intent and hope is there for this seven-year-old who comfortably beat Master Milliner last time at York.
A rise of 9lb might not be enough and will likely be amongst the finish, as she often is.
The mare has gone well over hurdles but has just narrowly missed the winning mark when facing some top-level rivals like Love Envoi at Cheltenham Festival in March.
Willie Mullins sends out regular dual-purpose Scaramanga for the first time under Jason Watson and given the weight he’s being given and decent run behind Coltrane last time out, he could make a big price run at 12/1, which was an even more attractive 20/1 price earlier in the week.
4.15: Desert Order 7/4
A huge price considering and with Buick and Appleby combining again this Godolphin two-year-old could clinch a double, treble or even fourfold for the pair.
York racing tips
2.40: Stay Well 13/2
Preferred over What’s The Story for the chance he won’t run on Saturday following a run on Friday, but he has been known to race twice in 48 hours, last month.
The Hughie Morrison-trained horse is now 6lb better off to the Godolphin favourite Marching Army and could reverse that form this time.
3.15: Hyperfocus 16/1
Plenty of chances at York to get profit from these big fields by going for an each-way punt.
Hyperfocus gives a big chance for Tim Easterby who often finds himself among the finish in big fields.
Came second in a field of 16 last time out at Haydock and a similar story at Doncaster three starts ago.
But will only be the one to choose if there’s enough rain before the off, as he goes much better on good to soft and soft.
