Julio Rodriguez Injury

Although Julio Rodriguez’s right-hand X-rays came back negative, the rookie outfielder for the Seattle Mariners was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday. The X-rays came back clear, but he’s in a lot of pain.

To settle things down, manager Scott Servais said Sunday, “I think everyone agrees” that the player won’t be hitting for at least five days. When it comes to batting, everyone understands how delicate the area around the wrist and hands is. Let’s do it right and make sure he comes back healthy.”

According to Servais, Rodriguez hasn’t yet had an MRI, but he expects to “probably get some more photographs.” On Sunday, Rodriguez expressed gratitude that his hand was not fractured and stated that it must “feel right” before he can return to the field.

Just as long as “the swelling goes down and just everything it’s gotta feel okay,” he insisted, “I’m all set!” “I think it’s going to be pretty soon, but we just want to be careful and make sure that I’m taking enough time to be 100 percent and not having to deal with that for the rest of the season.”

A pitch hit Rodriguez on the back of the hand as he swung and missed in the eighth inning of the Mariners’ 5-4 triumph against the Astros on Saturday night. Before he was removed in the ninth inning, he played the bottom half of the inning on the field.

Outfielder Dylan Moore, who departed Saturday’s game due to back spasms, was also placed on the 10-day injured list for the Red Sox. They brought up outfielders Jarred Kelenic and Jack Larsen as a result of these transactions.

Sam Haggerty was unable to play in Sunday’s game because he had sutures above his right eye. He was hurt when his tossed helmet hit him in the forehead after he failed to bunt in the ninth inning and threw his gear. Despite the helmet’s rebound, he was struck in the head. Servais claimed he was feeling fine and will be ready as a pinch runner for the Giants when the season begins.
