Philadelphia leveled the score in the 65th minute with a goal from Julian Carranza. A goal from Daniel Gazdag inside the penalty area gave the Union the lead less than two minutes later. In the 76th minute, Cory Burke put the icing on the cake.

The Union made a long run in 2021. They even advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, when they faced NYCFC. In that situation, NYCFC emerged victorious and went on to win the championship.
This year, the Union is competing in the final and will be facing a fresh opponent. LAFC, who are also competing in their first MLS Cup Final, are their opponents.
