Taurean Prince

Taurean Prince, a forward with the Minnesota Timberwolves, was apprehended on Thursday at MIA and is currently being imprisoned in a Miami jail on a “fugitive warrant out of state extradite.”

There have been rumors that the arrest warrant has to do with drugs, but NBC Sports has not been able to confirm this. The warrant originated in Texas. Several news sources have confirmed his detention (KSTP in Miami was the first we saw).

“We are aware of the claimed report regarding Taurean Prince and are in the process of gathering more information,” the Timberwolves said.

Prince attended Baylor University before making the jump to the NBA; he was born and reared in Texas. He’s been in the league for six years and last year he was a reserve player for the Timberwolves.

This offseason, Prince re-signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves on a two-year, $14.6 million contract that guarantees him $7.1 million for the next season and leaves the second season’s salary (at $7.5 million) out in the air.
