Tony Gonsolin Injury

Having been born on May 14, 1994, Anthony D. Gonsolin is a professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). There, he suited up for the Saint Mary’s Gaels baseball team. He was picked up by the Dodgers in the ninth round of the 2016 MLB draft and didn’t make his major league debut until 2019.

Injury

A strain in his right forearm prompted the Los Angeles Dodgers to place All-Star pitcher Tony Gonsolin on the injured list on Monday, just hours before Gonsolin was set to make his scheduled start against the Miami Marlins.

Gonsolin, who has thrown more innings than ever before in his career, is tied for the major league lead in wins (16). His injury is the latest blow to a Dodgers rotation that has helped them to the league’s best record.

“I thought it was a little tight after our last game,” Gonsolin added. “As the year has begun, I’ve experienced some early-on tightness. We gave it two days to go away before acting, but it stuck around this time, so we’re fighting back.

Gonsolin, who is now 28 years old and has a 16-1 record in the majors after starting and relieving for the first three years of his professional career, has quickly become one of the best pitchers in the game. The right-hander is tied for the majors’ lead in victories with Houston’s Justin Verlander and Atlanta’s Kyle Wright, and he has the lowest earned run average (2.10) of any NL starter.

As a result of injuries to three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler, Gonsolin rose in the Dodgers’ rotation and was named to the All-Star team for the first time.

However, unlike his first three seasons with the club, Gonsolin is now expected to put in more hours of labor each day. With 128 and a third innings pitched so far this season, Gonsolin has already surpassed his previous major league record of 55 and third innings pitched in 2021.

According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Gonsolin is “in uncharted territory.” “One downside is that you might have to give up some of the good starts to the season. My own opinion is that maintaining his health should be our top priority “It was his words.

While on the disabled list, Gonsolin won’t be out for any more games than his two scheduled starts. After a battery of tests showed no evidence of structural damage, he determined that an MRI was unnecessary.

“According to Gonsolin, the results of numerous tests conducted on ligaments were all unfavorable. “Except for some tightness when I toss, everything feels great.

With a 20-game lead over San Diego in the NL West, the Dodgers brought up Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City after their 3-2 win over the Marlins on Monday. In 4 2/3 innings of work against the Marlins, the starting right-hander gave up five hits, two runs, walked one, and struck out four.

On Tuesday, the Dodgers will play the first game of a three-game series against the National League East division leaders, the New York Mets.
