Willow Nightingale

Willow Nightingale, who has established herself as a staple of AEW television and a longtime favorite of Saraya, has now formally joined Tony Khan’s organization. She received a full-time contract and a “Is All Elite” graphic after defeating Lela Gray in the ring on a live Rampage broadcast that, for some reason, was broadcast from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.

Nightingale wrestled 17 matches for AEW in 2022 alone, so to the keen observer, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. However, she didn’t technically have a spot on the AEW roster page, an advertised win-loss record, or most importantly, a “Is All Elite” graphic, which is the true indicator of a performer’s spot in the promotion.

Fortunately, Khan has made Nightingale’s status official after a few outstanding efforts over the past few months, including numerous unsuccessful challenges for Jade Cargill’s TBS Championship. Khan sent Tony Schiavone out to the ring to congratulate Nightingale on her efforts and debut the magnificent graphic on the jumbotron.

This moment was obviously unique, despite the fact that Cargill and her Baddies and the trio of Nyla Rose, Marina Shafir, and Vickie Guerrero, who are currently fighting over the stolen TBS Championship, partially overshadowed her section.

Willow Nightingale has been in AEW’s sights for some time now.

According to information provided by WrestleZone, Tony Khan gave a positive evaluation of Nightingale’s chances of succeeding in the ring to the media before Death Before Dishonor.

Khan began, “Willow has been wrestling for AEW and she had previously wrestled for Ring of Honor as well. “Now that I have the ability to work with both businesses, I believe Willow is a fantastic wrestler for AEW and Ring of Honor, among other wrestling promotions. We’re seeing her improve steadily, and I think she’s a terrific face for any women’s division.

“I genuinely believe that she has progressed significantly while I’ve known her, and I appreciate how diligently she works because I believe that Willow has improved significantly but that the sky is the limit.

I’m thus extremely thrilled to watch her develop as a professional wrestler, and I believe Willow is a wonderful, great prospect and a great young star for both AEW and Ring of Honor going ahead. [She] could also be a strong-featured wrestler for either company going forward, or for both companies.

Nightingale reiterated Khan’s compliments in a different interview, which was also posted on WrestleZone, and she elaborated on how she intended to prolong her AEW career.

It appears promising. I can’t tell anyone right now because I don’t have anything concrete. But Nightingale said that everything was going well. I’ve fought there nine times, once more.

There, I’ve played nine matches thus far. On that voyage, there were undoubtedly times when I wondered, “What the heck is going on?” moments of annoyance. However, in the past few weeks, in particular, I’ve felt like I’ve received a lot of encouragement to keep going and to trust the process. So sure, folks, stick with me on this adventure. Watch what happens after that.

Thankfully for Nightingale, she was rewarded for her willingness to believe in the process, and she may now take pleasure in the results of her efforts. The “Baddest” you-know-what in AEW seems to be out for blood and may take that rage out on Nightingale, at least for tonight, based on Cargill’s reaction after the bout.
