Adama Traore Transfer

The Toffees have been discussed as a possible suitor for Traore, now playing for the Wolves. After spending last season on loan at Barcelona, he has returned to the Premier League club this summer. The presence of Kevin Thelwell, a prominent figure from Kevin Thelwell’s former team, Wolves, led to rumors that Everton was considering signing him.

The expected transfer never occurred, so the Spaniard is still playing at Molineux. In any case, it has recently come to light that Everton is considering a second Adama Traore.

A man with the same name who now plays for Ferencvaros of Hungary and the Mali national team is reportedly on the radar of the Merseyside club, as reported by Calciomercato.

The 27-year-old has also been doing well as a winger for Ferencvaros this season. Since joining the club, he has scored five times in five league games. He has scored seven goals in nine outings in European play (including the Champions League and the Europa League).

So far in the 2022-23 season, he has scored 12 goals in 14 games across all competitions. As can be seen, Traore is making excellent use of his abilities in his new environment. Could a fresh challenge be waiting for him in England, following stops in the Congo, France, Saudi Arabia, Moldova, and now Hungary?

Calciomercato’s article lacks context regarding Everton’s interest. Nothing about his potential price tag is provided. On the other hand, it seems they are keeping an eye on the former Sheriff Tiraspol’s assailant. If they sign him, it would be his first time playing in the Premier League.

Adama Traore’s move to Everton would present him with a fresh challenge. His level of flexibility would reveal itself only in time. But as he relishes his prime, he may harbor ambitions of moving up to a more challenging setting.

Traore has yet to play in a top-five European league. Metz, a French club that was in Ligue 1 last season but was in Ligue 2 when he was with them, was one of his stops. In this case, an offer from Everton would be like taking him to unexplored territory. And since he only set Ferencvaros back around $2 million, he represents a reasonable prize.

As of right now, he plans to continue honing his skills in the Hungarian First Division and the Europa League’s preliminary round. Not to mention, his current deal with Ferencvaros is set to continue through the year 2025.

Meanwhile, unless they can add more depth to the wide positions, Everton will have to rely on players like Anthony Gordon, Demarai Gray, Dwight McNeil, Alex Iwobi, and Andros Townsend.

It’s possible that Traore will be one of the candidates they evaluate when the time comes. Keep scoring goals for Ferencvaros as he has been, and he won’t hurt his career prospects in the least. Possibly more thrilling is the signing of the player who shares his name. To be sure, the Malian Traore is an outside option, but Everton should investigate him if they want to think creatively.
