Streaming Netflix isn’t always a possibility; you might be unable to do so if, for example, you are traveling on a plane or nearing the end of your monthly data allowance. The convenience of being able to watch your shows whenever you want thanks to the streaming service. Here we will examine the process of downloading movies and TV series from Netflix.
Can You Download Movies and Shows From Netflix?
Netflix does allow some content to be streamed and downloaded, but not the whole catalog. You may access the list of downloadable content (including TV series and movies) by clicking the Downloads tab in the footer. A button labeled “Find More to Download” should appear.
Netflix’s Downloadable Content page can be accessed by selecting the button. This section does not allow for searching, but it does include curated listings of TV shows and movies that are available for download.

When May Netflix Movies and Shows Be Streamed or Downloaded?
Netflix now has mobile apps for both iOS and Android, allowing users to stream or download movies and TV episodes. Additionally, the Netflix Windows 10 app on tablets, the Netflix app for Amazon Fire tablets, and the Netflix app for Android-powered Chromebook and Chromebox devices all allow for the same functionality.
How to Download Movies from Netflix?
If you independently picked a movie that enables offline viewing, once you’ve made your selection you can hit the Download button just below the play button. If you’ve already made your decision from a list of available media, you may start downloading your film by tapping the corresponding icon at the bottom of the screen.
When the movie download is complete, you can access it by selecting the Downloads tab in the footer. Stream or organize your downloaded media here.
Return to the Downloads section after watching a movie, and then tap the pencil icon in the upper right corner. After you’ve seen a movie, you can erase it from your device by selecting it and then tapping the trash can icon in the upper right.
When it comes to managing your downloaded shows, the procedure is identical to that of managing downloaded movies. Downloaded episodes can be viewed or removed by clicking the Downloads tab in the footer. Turning on or off Smart Downloads will cause fresh episodes to download and previously viewed episodes to be deleted automatically.
The most exciting aspect of this new function is that you get to decide how it works. The steps to turn it on are outlined below. Note that this functionality is Wi-Fi only and will not function with a cellular wireless connection.
- Tap the Downloads icon on the bottom navigation bar.
- You should see a Smart Downloads option on top of the screen. Tap on it.
- You should see a Downloads for You toggle. Tap it to turn it on.
- You can also allocate how much storage space your device uses and individual storage for each Netflix profile on your account. You should also see a bar that shows how much space is being used for the feature.
- Finally, you can select 1GB, 3GB, or 5GB storage limits for the Downloads for You feature. Tap on the “+” or “-“ buttons to add or reduce space.
This is only for Android users at the moment, but iOS users can expect the feature sometime in the future.
