Following their 20-18 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ record fell back to.500. It was a day to forget for Tom Brady and company, what with their ineffectiveness in the red zone and their problems on third downs.
At Acrisure Stadium, Ben Roethlisberger was present to see his former team’s second victory of the year. Brady was being watched by Roethlisberger the entire game, from his time on the field to his sideline tirade to his offensive line.
One important lesson that Roethlisberger took away from Brady’s most recent game versus the Steelers was his conviction that the seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback was not “enjoying this.”
During the most recent episode of his podcast Football with Ben Roethlisberger, Roethlisberger said, “It didn’t appear like he wanted to be out there.” “Perhaps it was the pressure, the fact that he was being struck, or whatever else was going on. There is no way he is enjoying this, I thought as I glanced down. It just didn’t seem like fun to him, so no way. Just the appearance suggested a different Tom.
Prior to the Buccaneers’ Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers, Brady was questioned about previous remarks made by Ben Roethlisberger, to which he responded that losing is just not enjoyable.
Brady stated, “I don’t believe it’s very fun for any of us once you lose.” We simply need to step up our game. That is the reality of overcoming many problems, improving performance, and winning.
In his 23rd NFL season, Brady has experienced a roller-coaster season, and the Buccaneers have a 1-3 record in their last four games. When they face the Panthers on the road next, they will have a chance to turn things around.
