For Tennessee’s shocking victory over Alabama on Saturday in Knoxville, Jenny Dell was prepared.
On Saturday night, the Vols defeated Alabama 52-49 to maintain their perfect record. To commemorate Tennessee’s first victory over Alabama since 2006, spectators flocked to the field.
Following the winning field goal, Vols supporters crowded Neyland Stadium to celebrate.
Heupel was tracked down by Dell for a post-game CBS interview.
“It’s about this squad, our alums, and our supporters. What this means is obvious. When asked what the significance of the game was, Heupel replied, “That’s why I’m smoking a cigar tonight.
Unexpectedly, Dell had prepared a package of cigars with an orange and white checkerboard pattern for the coach.
