The TCU Horned Frogs are having a fantastic campaign. Before the season started, nobody thought that this club would be a top-tier Big 12 championship candidate. Under the leadership of programme legend Gary Patterson, who was terrific for 20 years in Fort Worth but ran out of gas in his last seasons, TCU had suffered during the previous few years. The offensive line’s performance was what caused TCU to stumble the previous few seasons. Max Duggan, the TCU quarterback, was frequently unsuccessful in his attempts to escape painful hits and was always running for his life. He was being pummelling, and he struggled to function because he was constantly anticipating the next blow and how severely it would affect his body. Although TCU’s offence struggled to generate entire games, the defence wasn’t particularly strong either.
This year, that has changed. Sonny Dykes, the team’s first-year head coach, and Garrett Riley, the offensive coordinator and brother of USC head coach Lincoln Riley, have developed a plan and provided the instruction necessary for TCU to pass protect for Duggan and support the Horned Frogs’ offence. TCU occasionally experiences lulls and sporadic, patchy periods of action, although those occurrences are significantly less frequent. In the later seasons of the Patterson era, TCU would occasionally have poor halves and games, but this year, it’s extremely uncommon to see TCU go longer than a quarter without scoring any points. TCU typically plays two and a half to three extremely strong offensive quarters per game. The achievement of this team has been so much a result of minimising difficulties. An instance of this would be the victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday. Despite playing 20 poor minutes and falling behind 24-7, TCU’s offence erupted for 30 points in regulation, tying the game on two fourth-quarter touchdowns. Later, TCU completed the 17-point comeback and defeated Oklahoma State 43-40 by scoring touchdowns on each of its overtime possessions.
When Kansas State fell to Tulane at home earlier in the season, it was easy to wonder whether the Wildcats were in for a difficult season. However, Kansas State was anticipated to compete for the Big 12 championship. Coach Chris Klieman had a lot of work to do, but he did a fantastic job. Adrian Martinez has received excellent coaching from Klieman and his crew. Martinez hasn’t thrown an interception yet this season, which is truly amazing given how chaotic his time at Nebraska was. Klieman is well regarded in the industry and Scott Frost is out of a job as a result of Kansas State providing Martinez with coaching of a far higher calibre. Although Kansas State’s offence hasn’t always been effective this year, not committing mistakes is a key component of a truly excellent team.

College Football Odds: Kansas State-TCU Odds
Wildcats from Kansas State: +3.5 (-118)
Horned Frogs of TCU: -3.5 (-104)
Over: 53.5 (-110) (-110)
Under: 53.5 (-110)
Why Kansas State Could Cover the Spread
The Wildcats enjoyed a week free last week while TCU engaged in a taxing double-overtime contest with Oklahoma State. Fresher teams have a substantial advantage late in the season, which will benefit Kansas State in this situation.
Why TCU Could Cover the Spread
The TCU is guarding Max Duggan. Prior to this year, Duggan was considering backside pressure. The offensive line for the Horned Frogs is blossoming this season. The team has changed as a result. It’s difficult to dispute how tough and resilient this team has grown after TCU overcame a 17-point deficit last week because Sonny Dykes is performing above and beyond all expectations.
Final Kansas State-TCU Prediction & Pick
The odds are against TCU. The odds will finally catch up with TCU at some time. The defence for Kansas State ought to have a few things to say about that as well.
