In Week 7, there will be action involving three of the top seven picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Linebacker Travon Walker of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who was chosen with the first overall pick by the organisation, may frequently face offensive tackle Evan Neal of the New York Giants. The powerful front seven of the Giants will be led by Kayvon Thibodeaux in the contest.

The Jaguars needed help in several areas going into the draught earlier this year, and there was a lot of chatter in the weeks beforehand that they might take Neal or Thibodeaux. Neal was contacted by Jacksonville prior to the draught, and the AFC South team was in desperate need of a skilled pass rusher of Thibodeaux’s calibre.

The Jaguars ultimately decided to sign the former Georgia defensive lineman, but Neal and Thibodeaux were up for consideration as head coach Doug Pederson touched on ahead of Week 7.

For us, these were unquestionably discussed before to the selection, according to Pederson. “There were a lot of good players at the top of the board for us throughout the pre-draft process. Along with the edge rushers, there were some offensive lineman there.

“In the end, we had to make a choice, and we settled on choosing Travon. But I’ll tell you what, all those men at the top of the list, including both of those guys, might have been excellent matches for us. They are talented athletes. They will excel in this competition and play for a very long time. But in the end, we chose Travon, and we’re enthusiastic about his development and future prospects in Jacksonville.

Walker has nine pressures and one sack in his first six games for the Jaguars, which is a solid start. Neal and Thibodeaux, on the other hand, have individually established themselves as the Giants’ everyday starts.

In the grand scheme of things, the Jaguars enter Week 7 hoping to end their three-game losing run.

Doug Pederson comments on the Jaguars’ decision to choose Travon Walker over Evan Neal and Kayvon Thibodeaux with the top pick, which first featured on ClutchPoints.
