Elijah Moore missed Friday’s New York Jets practise, and Robert Saleh had a perfectly valid justification. However, there may still be cause for concern regarding Moore’s head position for their Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
According to Saleh, Moore took a personal day for family obligations. It was a legitimate absence. But just before practise, the wide receiver tweeted two cryptic messages, the first of which emphasised his faith in God and the second of which read, “Love my teammates!”

This might not seem like a significant deal on its own. However, Moore expressed dissatisfaction with his role—or lack thereof—in the Jets offence following their 27-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers last week, leading to further scrutiny of the tweets and personal day.
Moore responded on Twitter, “If I say what I want to say I ll be the selfish guy Just know that I don t understand either,” in response to ESPN reporter Rich Cimini’s inquiry as to why he was not even once targeted in the passing game on Sunday.
The remarks were minimised by Saleh when he spoke with media on Monday. Mike LaFleur, the offensive coordinator, claimed to have a candid conversation with Moore on Thursday.
Mike LaFleur on Elijah Moore’s frustration: “These guys are competitors … you want those guys to want the ball. Ultimately, we’re going to do what’s the best to score points and win, and he’s a big part of that.”#Jets

With 16 catches and 29 targets, Moore is fifth on the Jets. He had five touchdown catches as a rookie, which led the Jets, but he has none so far this year. Zach Wilson, the quarterback, has targeted Moore eight times in three games after his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery.
Garrett Wilson, a rookie, has stepped up significantly in the passing game. With 24 catches and 48 targets, he has the most in the Jets.
Moore’s dissatisfaction does not come at the best time. New York is 4-2, has won three straight games, and just had its biggest win in years.
Moores’ condition for Sunday’s game in Denver should be known more by Friday’s Jets practise.
