Voodoo is not anything Ja Morant believes in. The Memphis Grizzlies player showed on Friday that this magical practise does not, in fact, work on him by leading his team to a 129-122 victory over the Houston Rockets.
Here is a picture of a Houston supporter who tried to cast a voodoo hex on Morant ahead of Friday’s game. To be clear, the supporter did state that he had no malice toward the Grizzlies player:
This man has a Ja Morant voodoo doll.
His chant: I don t want the player to be hurt or maimed, I just want the player to have a really bad game. pic.twitter.com/xooGSF5POK

Morant ended up scoring 49 points on 17 of 26 shots, adding four rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and two blocks to his impressive performance. Additionally, the All-Star point guard connected on 5 of 6 efforts from beyond the arc. It is sufficient to say that Ja was not affected by any voodoo this evening.
The Grizzlies star claimed on Twitter that his belief in the Lord Almighty shields him from all forms of evil after the game:

He’s also a really, really talented basketball player, and this undoubtedly had an impact on his performance against the Rockets in which he broke the curse.
Jalen Green, who led Houston with 33 points on 13 of 21 shooting from the field, as well as five rebounds, two assists, a steal, and four three-pointers, had a strong game. On Houston’s own court, Morant and company managed to escape with a valiant 129-120 victory, but it wasn’t enough.
Memphis has a 2-0 record to begin the year. But with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks coming up on the second night of a back-to-back series on Saturday, they won’t have time to savour their success.
Ja Morant, a star for the Grizzlies, responds to a Rockets fan’s stunningly unsuccessful voodoo doll strategy.
