The Charlotte Hornets are always dealing with ailments. Terry Rozier has now suffered an injury, after LaMelo Ball.
After Friday’s defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans, Rozier was reportedly seen strolling about with a walking boot on his right foot, according to Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer. The somewhat unsettling glimpse certainly raises concerns regarding his availability on Sunday when they play the Atlanta Hawks.
Less than three minutes remained in the fourth quarter when Rozier suffered an ankle injury, but at first it didn’t seem to be an issue because he continued to play and win the game.
It’s unclear if Terry Rozier would need to miss Sunday’s game, but if he does, Charlotte’s offence would take a serious hit. LaMelo Ball has been out with a Grade 2 ankle sprain and is anticipated to be out for a little longer, so Scary Terry has actually been one of their better players.
With 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists against the Pelicans, the 28-year-old even came dangerously close to a triple-double. Finding a player who can score 20 or more points on any given night would be challenging for the Hornets, especially since their star player is already injured.
Fans can only hope that Rozier’s ankle injury will heal quickly and that he will be ready to play on Sunday for the time being.
The Hornets are also tending to Cody Martin’s injuries in addition to Ball and Rozier’s. The 27-year-old forward will miss the matchup with the Pelicans due to a quad injury.
