“I don’t see it as merely a name-dropping exercise, you know, or messing around. I envision actual things. I can only think about showing up and winning every single week.
Shedeur Sanders obviously believes he has some sway in the Heisman Trophy debate, but he also doesn’t want to get too involved.
In light of this, the Jackson State football standout has a strong claim to the prize. Sanders has rushed for 97 yards and two additional touchdowns while throwing for 1,985 yards, 22 touchdowns, and only four interceptions.
And his Tigers club has a perfect record. Shedeur Sanders is undoubtedly battling history in the battle for the Heisman Trophy. Steve McNair, a former All-American at Alcorn State and NFL MVP, was the last representative of the Southwestern Athletic Conference to be invited to the Heisman ceremony in 1994.
