In the wake of the Los Angeles Lakers’ disheartening loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, Russell Westbrook was subjected to some challenging questions from the media. When the aforementioned interview took place, Juan Toscano-Anderson was nearby, and he felt compelled to defend his troubled teammate then and then.
In response to the harsh criticism the former league MVP has been receiving, Toscano-Anderson has now increased his defence of Westbrook. JTA used Twitter to respond to the doubters who have been disparaging Russ so much:
“It s only news because yall make it news,” JTA wrote in his tweet.
Toscano-Anderson discussed the idea that Russ’ confidence may be waning as a result of all the missed shots during the aforementioned interview (Westbrook went 0-of-11 from the field against the Clippers). JTA refuted it by highlighting how much of a team player Russ has been, especially since Toscano-offseason Anderson’s recruitment.
JTA was also spotted with a Russell Westbrook jersey following a recent Lakers practise:

With his activities, Juan Toscano-Anderson has already won over Lakers supporters. He’s not a superstar by any means, but he’s the kind of player you always want on your side. The 6-foot-6 combo guard is trying to bring the same passion to LA in the same role that he played for the Golden State Warriors over the last three years.
As for Russell Westbrook, he will undoubtedly require all the help he can receive from his teammates as he has yet another difficult season ahead of him.
