With the exception of Kyle Kuzma, the Lakers sold nearly all of their young players to get Anthony Davis. At the time, it was a big thing because it seemed like the Lakers valued Kuzma highly enough to see him as a long-term asset worth having around as they competed for titles.
Kyle Kuzma did assist the Lakers in their bid to win the 2020 championship on the verge of defeat, but in the summer of 2021, he was traded in exchange for Russell Westbrook. Kuzma was a reserve player for the Lakers during his final two seasons there. However, Kuzma is now a full-time starter for the Washington Wizards, and some Lakers supporters are wondering, “What if?,” as a result of his performances.
As soon as Kuzma slammed down a monstrous slam against Chicago Bulls Patrick Williams on Friday, that feeling just grew stronger. In a victory for the Wizards, Kuzma finished the game with 26 points and six rebounds while shooting 50% (4-8) from beyond the arc.
During and after the game, Lakers supporters expressed their thoughts on Kuzma’s success with the Wizards on Twitter.
Crazy how much the Lakers need Kuz

Kuzma, come back to the Lakers

Not all supporters, however, longed for Kuzma to rejoin the Lakers. Some people suggested that Kuzma needed a change of scenery in order to play at this level and that he might not have been able to showcase this talent if he was still a Laker.
The Kuz disrespect was crazy. Lakers held him back

Uncertainty surrounds whether Kuzma could have displayed his talent in this manner while playing for the Lakers. He has, however, undoubtedly emerged as one of the Wizards’ most crucial players. Kuzma scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against the Indiana Pacers in the team’s opening day. Because of his most recent effort, the Wizards have a 2-0 season to start compared to the Lakers’ 0-2 record. Expect more comments about the one that got away from Lakers supporters if he continues to play like this.
