Even though the Arizona Cardinals defeated the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, not everything was rosy on the victorious team’s sideline. The Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury got into a furious altercation, and Murray was overheard telling Kingsbury to “calm the f*** down” after Arizona had to waste a timeout late in the second quarter. In reality, the game was anything but that.
Before Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins helped calm things down, the two exchanged more heated comments. Here is what Murray and Kingsbury said in response to the contentious incident, as reported by Josh Weinfuss of ESPN, after the game.
Murray stated, “The clock was going down and we couldn’t have finished the play we were trying to run. “So, I suppose it was my fault. I’ll accept it.
You now have it. Kliff Kingsbury informed Kyler Murray of his dissatisfaction after the Cardinals failed to execute the play they were trying to run.
Murray was obviously attempting to calm down his coach by telling that he just needed to “cool out.” Kingsbury referred to the situation as a “conflict of opinion,” but afterwards made light of it.
Murray clarified that there is no reason to be concerned by adding, “We’re good,” to his statement. It seems like it was simply two rival competitors battling it out in the heat of the moment.
The Cardinals might benefit going forward from having Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury as their fire-ice.
