The artwork for numerous new cards in the upcoming set The Brothers’ War was teased by Magic: the Gathering. See what was revealed in the most recent world-building video by continuing to read.
We learned about what to anticipate for the forthcoming set from the most recent Magic: the Gathering video on The Brothers’ War’s world-building. The artwork for various cards was displayed during the movie, and we saw a preview of some of the characters whose cards we may anticipate seeing. We have yet to learn the precise mechanics associated with any upcoming cards for the set because no brand-new cards were revealed in the video.
Urza and Mishra will both receive cards that use the Meld mechanic, which was first seen in the set Eldritch Moon, according to earlier set teasers. Titania, the maro-sorcerer who guards the realm of Argoth, is anticipated to receive a Meld card as well, though the card required to meld with her is currently unknown based on the art previews. Additionally, we got to see character previews whose names had previously only been mentioned in the flavour text and names of existing cards. Ashnod, an artist whose works are composed of both the live and the dead, is one example of this. Gix, a Phyrexian praetor who was turned by Yawgmoth during the conflict, is another illustration. Many other characters will also get their time in the spotlight and will each get their own set of cards.
In addition to people, the movie included brief glimpses of Urza’s Tower, one of the three lands that make up the so-called “Urzatron” land cycle. This could indicate the introduction of the potent “Urzatron” land cycle to Pioneer as well as its return to Standard, albeit nothing is set in stone just yet because the concept picture for the construction was simply presented and not given a name.
The artwork for the reprints that will be added to the set was finally revealed. Fauna Shaman, a green creature card that can be used to tutor other creature cards and performs admirably in Elf decks across a variety of formats, is a noteworthy reprint. The remaining Painlands that weren’t in Dominaria United are a different set of reprints.
How does The Brothers’ War play out?
This particular set occurs following Dominaria United’s events. After their most recent battle with the Phyrexians, which resulted in the completion of Ajani Goldmane and the passing of Jaya Ballard, the planeswalkers are still in shock. The planeswalkers determine that they must look into the past in order to save the future because the fate of the Multiverse is at risk. Teferi will go back in time to learn more about how the Phyrexians were previously destroyed by studying the fight between the Urza and Mishra brothers.
The Brothers’ War’s prerelease will be place from November 11 to November 17. On November 15, the set will thereafter be made accessible on both Magic Online and the Magic: The Gathering Arena. On November 18, the set will be made available for purchase.
