At Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in a Super Bowl 54 rematch. It’s time to give our NFL oddsseries, in which we anticipate and select the winner of the Chiefs vs. 49ers game.
At Arrowhead Stadium last Saturday, the Chiefs fell to the Buffalo Bills 24–20. 25 of Patrick Mahomes’ 40 passes were successfully completed, for 338 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Clyde Edwards-Helaire also ran nine times for 33 yards, averaging a pitiful 3.7 yards per carry. Five passes were caught by Juju Smith-Schuster for 113 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, Mecole Hardman hauled in three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown while Travis Kelce received eight passes for 108 yards.
At Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the San Francisco 49ers fell to the Atlanta Falcons 28–14. With 29 of his 41 throws completed, Jimmy Garoppolo gained 296 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. After that, Jeff Wilson ran five times for a total of 25 yards, averaging 3.6 yards per carry. While Brandon Aiyuk grabbed eight passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns, George Kittle only managed to catch eight passes for 63 yards. Deebo Samuel also hauled in seven passes for 79 yards.
The Chiefs have defeated the 49ers in three of the previous four regular-season meetings. Surprisingly, the Chiefs have only won once in San Francisco, in 1971, and are currently 1-5 there. In each of the Chiefs’ six games this season, they have given up at least 20 points. Additionally, Mahomes has had trouble in the fourth quarter, with a passer rating of 54.9.
After being sidelined for the last two games with an injury, Nick Bosa might play in this game. Additionally, the 49ers made a significant move on Thursday when they acquired running back Christian McCaffrey in a trade. They have another tool at their disposal that they can use to their advantage.

Why The Chiefs Could Cover The Spread
The Chiefs still cherish their Super Bowl 54 victory against the 49ers after an incredible comeback. As they travel to Santa Clara to take on the 49ers, they are hoping to repeat the accomplishment. Tyreek Hill is the one real weapon that is absent from that game. Mahomes, who played through multiple setbacks in that game for the Chiefs, is still there. Mahomes took four sacks while completing 26 of his 42 throws for 286 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Kelce also hauled in six passes for 43 yards and a score.
The Chiefs overcame a 20-10 deficit to win 31-20. In the end, they halted the 49ers offensive and then threw the ball past the sluggish San Francisco secondary.
Mahomes has passed for 1,736 yards, 17 touchdowns, and four interceptions heading into this contest. Edwards-Helaire has subsequently caught 16 catches for 37 yards and three touchdowns in addition to running 59 times for 256 yards. Smith-Schuster has 27 receptions for 370 yards and a touchdown, compared to Kelce’s 41 catches for 455 yards and seven touchdowns. With 19 receptions, Marquez Valdes-Scantling has gained 258 yards.
If the Chiefs can take the lead quickly, they will win and cover the spread. Mahomes will also require defence to keep him safe from Bosa and the fierce defensive line.
Why The 49ers Could Cover The Spread
The 49ers are hoping to avenge a ridiculous defeat they suffered in the most important game of the year a few years ago. They eventually wilted away a 10-point advantage they had in the fourth quarter.
The quarterback completed 20 of his 31 throws for 219 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in that contest. Samuel ran three times for 53 yards while also catching five passes for 39 yards. Kittle gained 36 yards from four receptions. Ultimately, none of the playmakers could break out in this contest. Now they have Aiyuk and McCaffrey on the team and will look to diversify its offensive playmaking.
Garoppolo has thrown for 1,153 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. Also, Wilson has rushed 81 times for 400 yards and two touchdowns while catching eight passes for 70 yards. Samuel has caught 27 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 23 times for 136 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, Aiyuk has 25 catches for 320 yards and three touchdowns. Kittle is still searching for his first touchdown. So far, he has caught 19 passes for 182 yards.
The 49ers may get some pieces back, giving them a better chance. Likewise, the trade for McCaffrey should jolt them. The 49ers will cover the spread if they can generate offense and keep Mahomes off the field. Consequently, the offense has struggled, and that must change.
Final Chiefs-49ers Prediction & Pick
Members from the 2012 49ers will be in the house on Sunday. Ultimately, that may inspire the current regime to play its best game. The 49ers have circled this game on their calendar and want to prove they can hang with the Chiefs. Therefore, expect Shanahan to deliver some great packages to help the offense succeed and ensure a victory.
