When it comes to the Good Brothers, NJPW made a mistake. The company watched in horror as Doc-now-Luke Gallows and “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson re-signed with WWE and then accepted a booking at Crown Jewelon the same day as Battle Autumn after agreeing to a handshake deal to keep the duo around through Wrestle Kingdom in January and even award the latter the NEVER Open Weight Championship for his efforts.
Hikuleo, the younger brother of the Gorillas of Destiny, who was scheduled to compete against “Bright Lights” KA for the belt at that particular event, obviously didn’t take this very well. Hikuleo published a statement of his own after watching a heelish video package excusing their absence from the show.
You suppose I was forgotten, don’t you? Hikuleo questioned ad hominem. Although I now have a lot on my plate, I can still find time for you. Karl Anderson, what are you afraid of? The second non-Japanese competitor to reach the G1 finals, are you afraid of someone who has just returned from an educational excursion? Is the former IWGP Tag Team Champion, who won the championship multiple times, afraid of a challenger who has only faced him twice? You wish to refer to yourself as “bright lights”? Don’t forget that New Japan switched those lights on for you. You now want to claim that the lights are more bright? Saying that your lights are brighter is your goal. Don’t turn away from us, then. Don’t lose sight of your origins. Karl, do you wish to elude me? I’ll track you down, and when I do, I’ll turn out all of your lights.
Will Hikuleo finally have a chance to wrestle for Anderson’s belt despite being a WWE employee? Only time will tell, but as of right now, Hikuleo’s and your guess are about equal.
