Paul George wants a review of Damion Lee’s game-winner

To start their 2022–23 season off against the Dallas Mavericks, the Phoenix Suns pulled off an astonishing comeback. The Suns were down by as many as 22 points in this game until Damion Lee made a challenging midrange jumper with 9.7 seconds remaining on the clock and Luka Doncic missed a possible game-winning three. Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers wasn’t pleased with the play because he thinks the officials should have called a foul on Lee’s game-winning shot.

George, who was watching the game on Wednesday night when the Clippers weren’t in action, thought Lee had travelled before his jump shot. When Lee picks up his dribble on the right wing, it appears as though both of his feet may have left the ground as he attempted to regain his balance. George tweeted his thoughts on the play, demonstrating his conviction that this was the case.

    Travel

Although George was not involved in this game, it is obvious that he is dissatisfied with the decision not to call Lee’s shot in this instance. He may have had some support for Dallas in this game since the Mavericks and Suns are both expected to fight with the Clippers for the top spot in the Western Conference. Or perhaps he just enjoyed watching the close match and wants to see more of it.

Whatever the situation, the Suns won’t moan because they rallied to earn a significant victory to begin their new campaign. Phoenix was able to revenge their lopsided defeat to Dallas in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals from last season after a difficult offseason, and it should enable them to play at their highest level for the remainder of the year. That’s bad news for teams like the Clippers, so perhaps that’s why George insisted so strongly that a travel happen on this play.

Paul George requests a review of Damion Lee’s game-winning shot, which initially featured on ClutchPoints.
