There will soon be another another big addition to the Brooklyn Nets. Seth Curry’s season debut is “probably” still a few practises away, according to Nets head coach Steve Nash.
Curry underwent ankle surgery in the offseason and missed Brooklyn’s four preseason games in addition to the season opener. The 32-year-old was acquired by the Nets in the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade at the deadline the previous year. Following the move, he started each of the 17 games he played for the team, scoring 14.9 points on 46.8 percent of his three-point attempts while still dealing with an ankle issue.
Since joining the NBA in 2015, the guard has established himself as one of the league’s top three-point shooters, averaging 4.4 attempts per game while hitting 43.9 percent from outside the arc. Curry has recently shown himself to be a more proficient mid-range scorer and developer of secondary shots. When discussing Curry’s health, Nash said earlier this week that the sharpshooter had been given the all-clear to play four-on-four and that he wasn’t worried.
I’m not alarmed. I’m confident and optimistic, he declared on Curry. Simply put, it involves the recovery from surgery of the players and their return to play.

Curry will probably go with the team to play away games in Memphis and Milwaukee early the next week, according to Nash. Prior to Friday’s game against Toronto, the Nets received good injury news when it was revealed that Joe Harris would play in his first game of the year.
Brooklyn’s spacing problems were noticeable in the team’s lopsided season-opening defeat to New Orleans. The Pelicans blocked the Nets’ driving lanes, which resulted in a 10-of-33 three-point shooting performance and difficulty creating shots at the rim. The team will have two of the league’s top shooters joining the rotation with Harris back and Curry very close to returning.
