The NFL trading deadline for 2022 is November 1 at 4 p.m. ET. The New York Jets must determine whether any transactions, if any, are advantageous to them. We’ll look at the most advantageous deal the Jets can make before the 2019 NFL trade deadline.
The Jets’ roster is far from ideal, much like that of any NFL team. So there’s always the choice to upgrade. However, don’t anticipate general manager Joe Douglas to take any bold action before the cutoff. He is calm and methodical, and he thinks the Jets are headed in the right direction thanks to their 4-2 record, which includes three straight victories.

Most positions are covered by the Jets. They had significantly improved starting lineups on both sides of the ball, and when put to the test due to linebacker and offensive line injuries, they showed they had strong depth.
Douglas might think about bringing in a reserve offensive lineman. But this past week, the Jets signed veteran Mike Remmers. Additionally, tackles George Fant and Max Mitchell are anticipated to return to the field this season after being activated from injured reserve.
Finding a better backup than safety Will Parks or corner Brandin Echols may not be possible, but a good backup in the secondary may be an option.
There is one deal that New York must make, though.

Wide receiver Denzel Mims must be traded by the Jets.
While doing so would result in the removal of a disgruntled player and patch up a strained relationship, it would not strengthen the present roster or increase their chances of making the playoffs.
Many teams are in need of assistance at wide receiver. For the Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, or New York Giants, Mims might be an intriguing alternative.

Despite Mims being the sixth player on the depth chart, Douglas has been reluctant to trade the 2020 second-round pick. With the exception of a wide receiver injury, the former Baylor star has been inactive for all six of the team’s games this season.
In the preseason finale against the Giants, Mims had his greatest performance since getting selected, catching seven catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Despite publicly asking to be traded, Mims is still listed among the 53 players. He hasn’t been heard from since the beginning of the season, but it’s safe to presume he’s dissatisfied with his job as it stands.

After making 23 catches as a rookie and averaging 15.5 yards per catch, Mims completely lost favour with a new coaching staff the following year. In the end, he had eight catches in 11 games despite being sick during training camp.
Mims currently serves as Jeff Smith, Corey Davis, Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Braxton Berrios’ insurance against harm. There’s a fair likelihood a receiver will get hurt at some time with 11 games still to play.
However, it’s obvious that neither offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur nor Jets coach Robert Saleh have any faith in Mims. They just don’t see him as a player who can be of assistance to them. Mims only continues to be a Jet because Douglas won’t part with an asset for pennies on the dollar.
The only action the Jets need to take before the deadline is to trade Mims. Even if you have to grit your teeth and agree to a low-round draught pick in exchange. Do it. It is now.
