Elijah Moore’s request for a trade is not being granted by the New York Jets, as Robert Saleh makes quite plain. The wide receiver won’t be traded, according to the coach, and won’t take the field against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Saleh stated that trading him is not an option.
On Thursday, Moore reportedly had a fight with offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, departed the Jets’ training camp, and was given a personal day. The 2021 second-round draught pick is dissatisfied with how the Jets’ offence has utilised him this year. His failure to receive a single target in the passing game during a 27-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers last week was particularly infuriating.

Moore reportedly requested a trade, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport’s report on Thursday. Saleh firmly stated the proposal will not be taken into consideration when he verified it on Friday.
Moore will work with the conditioning staff the following three days but won’t practise or attend meetings on Friday. On Monday, he will re-join the group.
In my opinion, it would be unjust to ask him to play a football game given his current mental state, Saleh said.
Ironically, third-year wide receiver Denzel Mims, who requested a trade during the preseason, will take Moore’s spot. The Jets looked into trade proposals for the 2020 second-round pick, but ultimately decided to keep him. Mims will play in his first game of the season on Sunday after sitting out the previous six.
Saleh remarked about Mims that he was ready to play.
Saleh remained mum on whether Mims will start in lieu of Moore opposite receivers Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson. Mims might come off the bench, while Jeff Smith might get the start.
With 16 receptions and 29 targets, Moore ranks fifth on the Jets. In 11 games as a rookie last season, he caught 43 passes for five touchdowns on 77 targets. Many people expected the receiver to have a breakout season, but that hasn’t actually happened.
The fact that quarterback Zach Wilson has only made four catches out of eight targets in three games since making a full recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery worries Moore the most. That is partially due to New York’s recent two-week success with its running game.
However, it does not look ideal for Moore to ask for a trade. The Jets have matched their win total from the whole previous season at 4-2. They have three straight victories and just got back from a valiant away win at Lambeau Field.
Saleh yet defended Moore.

For a young club that seems to be turning things around, it is an unwelcome distraction.
This week’s Jets game against the struggling Broncos will take place in Denver. The Broncos are 2-4, their offence is having trouble, and quarterback Russell Wilson’s availability due to a hamstring injury is in doubt.
However, the Jets are currently dealing with their own issues.
Trading him is not a possibility: Jets After a trade request surfaced on ClutchPoints first, Robert Saleh puts pressure on Elijah Moore’s situation.
