According to recent reports, Derek Chisora has taken the lead as the favourite to face Tyson Fury next.
Negotiations for the WBC heavyweight world title match against Anthony Joshua fell apart last week.
Following this, Fury stated that he still wanted to compete as originally scheduled on December 3 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
TheTelegraph reports that he and his former rival Chisora have reached an agreement for a trilogy competition on this day.
Fury is rumoured to be considering Mahmoud Charr as a rival, but it’s said Chisora is the current front-runner.
When they first faced off in 2011 for the British and Commonwealth titles, Fury won by unanimous decision in a back-and-forth contest.
Fury utterly outclassed Chisora in their rematch in 2014 for the European and British crowns, forcing Chisora’s team to call time on the fight after round 10.
Few people are very enthused about the possibility of a third fight between the two because of their two previous encounters.
It appears that a formal announcement might happen soon.
Hey guys, second session of the day, Fury wrote on social media on Thursday. Absolutely outstanding.
3.12. I’m coming for you. We’re about to reveal our opponent for this week.
My child, ascend there. Come on, Cardiff, get up.
