Klay Thompson is a permanent fixture. Recently, there have been whispers that the Golden State Warriors’ sharpshooter would decide to hang up his sneakers after his contract with the team expires in 2024. On Thursday, Thompson made the decision to put an end to those suspicions.
In front of reporters, Klay Thompson stated, “I have no intention of retiring in 2024. Just be held accountable if you write something so stupid because that’s crazy.
Klay Thompson’s reaction was probably brought on by a hypothetical remark made by Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle on KNBR radio on Monday.
Of course, Klay Thompson’s response to those retirement rumours dominated NBA Twitter almost immediately.

Four NBA championships have already been won by Klay Thompson, all with the one and only franchise he has ever represented professionally. Thompson and the Warriors are still among the top favourites to take home a second NBA championship in the 2021–22 season, despite having just won the league’s top prize. Thompson still has a tonne of goals and objectives to pursue, and he as well as Warriors supporters hope that his body continues to function well for many more years. Since missing two consecutive full seasons due to chronic lower-body conditions, Thompson’s injuries have become a major issue. However, he is healthy again and doesn’t want to hear anyone speculating about when his time in the NBA may come to an end.
