On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers put on yet another lacklustre showing as they suffered their second consecutive loss of the new season. It was understandable why the players were upset after losing to their fierce rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, and it didn’t help that the spectators were jeering them as they walked to the tunnel.
This was specifically the case for Russell Westbrook, who seemed to have gotten into a small verbal spat with a fan immediately following the final buzzer. Evidently, as Russ was returning to the locker room, a rogue fan decided to attack him with some NSFW slander. In what turned out to be a nasty exchange, Westbrook confronted the fan after hearing the insulting jab:

The viewer who uploaded the video claimed that the heckler said, “You f-king stink,” at the Lakers player as she was watching the game. Clearly offended by the barb, Russ responded by urging the supporter to “tell that to my face.”
To be honest, however, it is difficult to understand what Russ was saying during the altercation. The clip does not include any of the claimed NSFW rant of the heckler. In either case, you can be certain that Westbrook wasn’t pleased and had to be restrained by an employee of the venue.
The fact that Russell Westbrook managed just two points on 0-of-11 shooting during the game may account for the Lakers’ home supporters’ harsh criticism. However, there is never a justification for disparaging another person in this way.
