When asked about Elijah Moore’s dissatisfaction with his position in the New York Jets offence on Thursday, Zach Wilson preached tolerance and faith. Moore, though, is said to have asked for a trade, so that communication might not have been received.
Moore skipped practise on Thursday. Moore was miffed that he was not targeted for a single pass in the Jets’ 27-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers last week, according to coach Robert Saleh, who said the displeased wide receiver had a personal day.
Just be patient and have faith in the process, Wilson advised. Last week, I only completed 10 passes, but we still won the game, so that’s good. I hope he knows how much he means to our squad because I love him.

Moore appears to lack both patience and trust in the procedure. Moore’s desire for a trade was revealed by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Thursday. He is the second receiver for the Jets to ask to be traded. Denzel Mims requested a trade during the preseason and is still listed on the 53-man roster despite sitting out all six games.
Last Sunday, after New York’s biggest victory in years, Moore tweeted in response to Rich Cimini of ESPN, who had expressed amazement that Moore had had no targets from Wilson.
Moore wrote, “If I say everything I want to say, I’ll be the selfish person. Just know that I don’t understand either.” in that tweet.
He then skipped practise on Thursday and tweeted, “I love my teammates!” He expressed his faith in God in a tweet as well.

This season, Moore has been targeted 29 times and has caught 16 catches without scoring a touchdown. Moore caught 43 receptions on 77 targets in 11 games as a rookie last year.
Elijah Moore has caught four passes on eight targets in three games since Wilson returned from arthroscopic knee surgery. Naturally, New York won each of those three contests to improve to 4-2 on the year. Moore’s request for a trade from a squad that is on the rise doesn’t seem good.
We haven’t distributed the ball much, and there haven’t been many opportunities, according to Wilson. “Since he’s a terrific player, I’m not trying to avoid him or anything like that. We’re discussing routes and how to clean things up each week as I move through my progressions.
The leading receiver for the Jets has emerged as rookie Garrett Wilson. With 24 catches on 48 targets, he has the most in New York. Wilson and seasoned player Corey Davis both have two touchdown receptions.
If Moore shows up for practise on Friday, his availability for Week 7’s game against the Denver Broncos may become clearer.
