When it comes to D-Generation X, WWE has a problem. However, whenever the faction attempted to reunite on television, they had to deal with the fact that one of their members, Billy Gunn, is currently the manager of one of the most popular tag teams in WWE’s biggest competitors, The Acclaimed.
Now sure, the faction is as over as ever, with Paul “Triple” Levesque and Shawn Michaels becoming even more popular because of their roles as the bookers of RAW/SmackDown and NXT, respectively.
Although Billy Gunn has made appearances on WWE programming since joining AEW, including “Daddy A**” participating in DX’s Hall of Fame induction, it’s difficult to imagine Levesque booking Austin and Colton’s father for any sort of tribute to their former glory given that he frequently appears on Dynamite and Rampage, especially with Vince McMahon now serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors once again.
Let's just cut to the chase, why is @RealKurtAngle out here with D-Generation X at #RAWXXX?! 👀 pic.twitter.com/53ctRMU0gt

Fortunately, Gunn’s replacement showed up on his own at RAW XXX, saving the DX boys the trouble of finding someone. That’s right, instead of presenting Gunn as Road Dogg was chasing down the gang, Gunn was actually replaced by Kurt Angle, who was dressed in his usual outfit with a DX shirt underneath. Since Angle is from Pennsylvania after all, this naturally drew a huge cheer from the crowd.
However, his efforts were ultimately unsuccessful as Imperium entered the ring to confront DX for disrespecting the rules of their great sport. Later, Seth Rollins and The Street Profits appeared to defend DX’s honor, at which point Angle offered to officiate the match as a guest referee since he already wore the striped shirt under the DX green and black. Thu s, yeah. The angle might be a DX member, and Billy Gunn trended on Twitter exactly as Trips had planned.
